The Seva Sangam in Tiruchirapalli, India, is an orphanage and school for girls of all ages.
We would be honoured to have you join us in this fundraising journey!

This is the entrance to the Tiruchi Seva Sangam, which currently accommodates more than 600 girls in nursery school, elementary school and high school.

These two girls parents were impoverished farmers in Tamil Nadu. The girls were recently orphaned. They were brought to the Seva Sangam in early 2007 and now have a place to live, food to eat, and a quality education.

In addition to providing government-accredited education, the Seva Sangam houses an orphanage and dormitory for young women. Here are some of the resident students.

Printing Press, May 2007
The Tiruchi Seva Sangam offers both academic and vocational training for its students. One long-standing vocational program offers training in offset printing; this printing press is used to produce school materials as well.

Sandalwood garlands, May 2007
Another vocational program trains girls to make garlands of sandalwood paste. These garlands are valued in South India for ceremonial purposes. Tara received this garland from members of the Tiruchi Seva Sangam Board of Directors, as thanks for funds raised from our past fundraising events in Ottawa.

Gandhi Auditorium, May 2007
The second floor of this building is the newly-constructed Gandhi Auditorium, made possible through generous donations from people all over the world. This is another example of how funds raised in Canada can benefit the students at the Tiruchi Seva Sangam.
